There's no place like home for the Destin Sharks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-71 win over Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Destin has posted yet this season.

Destin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Traiton Mauffray out in front who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Bryson Nixon, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Destin now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Destin will square off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Forest is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gulf Pointe Latin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
