On FridayHelena's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged out the Gardendale Rockets 2-0. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 6-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Marlee Parsons's shutout, as she gave up just two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned runs any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Helena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Storey, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Helena's win bumped their record up to 7-0-1. As for Gardendale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Helena will square off against Mortimer Jordan at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Helena's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Mortimer Jordan's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Gardendale has already played their next matchup (against Hamilton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
