Football Recap: Bayside Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Bayside and American Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Bayside had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Stallions. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Stallions are ranked 217th).

Mason Leggins threw for 109 yards and one TD. Jayden Taylor was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.

American Heritage found their leader in sophomore Marcus Stracke, who threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. Stracke's passing game has become a key predictor of the Stallions' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Zachary Schwartz was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and one score on only five carries.

Bayside's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for American Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Bayside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for American Heritage, they will challenge Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Stallions 13.6, the Scorpions 7.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
