Basketball Game Preview: GREEN Upstate Owls vs. Ware Shoals Hornets

The GREEN Upstate Owls will head out to square off against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

GREEN Upstate is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They secured a 38-33 W over Dixie on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ware Shoals had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Whitmire 74-44.

Ware Shoals' win came from a few key players GREEN Upstate will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayce Medlin, who posted 14 points along with six assists and four steals. Charles Callaham was another key player, putting up 19 points and six boards.

Ware Shoals was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

GREEN Upstate's record is now 8-14. As for Ware Shoals, their record now sits at 9-12.

GREEN Upstate strolled past Ware Shoals in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 82-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for GREEN Upstate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
