Basketball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown lost against Penn Wood last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Middletown Cavaliers took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Penn Wood Patriots. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cavaliers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 17th in Delaware, while the Patriots are ranked 286th in Pennsylvania).

Middletown has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Penn Wood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Middletown will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Penn Wood, they will head out to square off against Cheltenham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Penn Wood has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three matchups.
