Howland comes up short despite Alyssa Massucci's strong performance

Recap: Howland Tigers vs. West Branch Warriors
If the Howland Tigers were feeling good off their 64-32 takedown of the Lakeview Bulldogs last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Howland took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Branch. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Howland in their matchups with West Branch: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Howland still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Massucci, who scored 11 points. Jessie DeSalvo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Howland's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for West Branch, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
Howland will head out on the road to square off against Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Austintown-Fitch is on a four-game streak of home wins, Howland a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. West Branch will take on Girard at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
