Baseball Recap: Mount Greylock Regional Mounties vs. Northampton Blue Devils
After only two runs in their last matchup, Mount Greylock Regional made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northampton on Tuesday. The Mounties blew past the Blue Devils 10-4. The Mounties not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 9-2).
Mason Canata made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Mount Greylock Regional got a big performance out of Cam Miller, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Miller a new career-high. Cole Wetherell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Mount Greylock Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.
