Softball Recap: Casa Grande Takes a Loss

Casa Grande came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks, falling 11-0. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Nighthawks when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Casa Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Ironwood Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Grande will welcome Canyon del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Casa Grande will need to watch out since Canyon del Oro has now posted at least ten runs in their last five matches. As for Ironwood Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salpointe Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ironwood Ridge 3.4, Salpointe Catholic 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
