Baseball Game Preview: Middleburgh Knights vs. Fonda-Fultonville Valley Hawks

Middleburgh is 0-3 against Fonda-Fultonville since June of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Knights will take on the Valley Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Middleburgh will be strutting in after a win while Fonda-Fultonville will be coming in after a defeat.

Middleburgh's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Mekeel Christian Academy as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Meanwhile, Fonda-Fultonville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Schalmont by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Valley Hawks in their meetings with the Sabres: they've now lost four in a row.

Jake Hernigle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Middleburgh might still be hurting after the 23-3 defeat they got from Fonda-Fultonville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
