After losing to Giddings the last time they met, Smithville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Smithville walked away with a 5-1 victory over Giddings on Tuesday.

Smithville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Giddings' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithville will face off against Caldwell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Giddings, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bellville at 7:00 p.m. on April 4.
