Baseball Recap: Lynbrook Takes a Loss

Lynbrook had lost six straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 5-16 to make it seven. They came up short against North Salinas, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against North Salinas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Lynbrook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Tai, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Tai has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

As for North Salinas, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

On North Salinas' side, they got a big performance out of Johnny Benabides, who went 2-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Drew Cervantes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Salinas beat Lynbrook by a score of 4-2 later that day.
