Volleyball Recap: Don Soffer Aventura Comes Up Short

Don Soffer Aventura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Monsignor Pace Spartans. The Barracuda were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Don Soffer Aventura took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-13, 25-20.

Naiah Corzo paced Don Soffer Aventura's offense, picking up four kills. Corzo got some help from Fiorella Funes and her eight assists. Corzo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 11 aces.

Don Soffer Aventura's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Monsignor Pace, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-8.

Don Soffer Aventura will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mater Brickell Academy at 5:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Monsignor Pace, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Doral Academy on the 23rd.
