            Baseball Recap: Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish vs. Junipero Serra Padres        
        
		
        
        
            Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory had lost three straight at home, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 12-13 to make it four. They lost  17-5 to the Junipero Serra Padres. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Padres this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  5-1  on Friday.
 Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tedford Lewis, who  went 1-for-4 with one  run and one  double.  Tyler Hurley also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
As for Junipero Serra, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
On Junipero Serra's side,  Kelley Crawford looked comfortable as he  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Crawford has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Junipero Serra got a  massive  performance out of  Aaron Minton, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  RBI gave  Minton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Tyler Harrison, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will  challenge  rival Valley Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Junipero Serra is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Archbishop Riordan  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
