Holmes County had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Chipley Tigers on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Devils sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Kopper Nelson looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Holmes County let Egan Segers and Tristan King run wild. Segers went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI, while King went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles King has posted since back in March. Bryant Mathis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Holmes County's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Chipley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Holmes County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chipley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
