Volleyball Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Starts off Right with Win over Lucerne Valley

Academy for Academic Excellence had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Lucerne Valley Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Academy for Academic Excellence walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Brin Bryant paced Academy for Academic Excellence's offense, picking up seven kills. Bryant got some help from Colbie Tworek and her nine assists. Tworek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Academic Excellence will head out to square off against Norton Science & Language Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lucerne Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Trona at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
