Basketball Recap: Hannah-Pamplico Takes a Loss

Hannah-Pamplico was the 55-41 winner over Aynor when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Raiders and the Blue Jackets didn't end well, with the Raiders falling 46-32. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Hannah-Pamplico still got an impressive performance from De'Auje Bacchus, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Bacchus has become a key player for the Raiders: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Dakhi Thomas also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Aynor had a senior duo take command as Robinson Mendez dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards and Jamarion Mitchell posted 13 points and eight rebounds. Mitchell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Xavier Dukes was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Hannah-Pamplico's record is now 3-3. As for Aynor, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

While Hannah-Pamplico had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
