Baseball Recap: Maud Comes Up Short

Maud was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pewitt Brahmas. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Brahmas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-12 on Thursday.

Maud's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pewitt, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Maud is set to challenge their familiar foe Linden-Kildare at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pewitt will take on rival Bowie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Brahmas have won five straight at home, while the Pirates won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
