Basketball Recap: Allen Academy Comes Up Short

Allen Academy was the 65-33 winner over Brazosport Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Allen Academy Rams had to suffer through a 55-28 loss at the hands of the Brazosport Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1442nd, while the Eagles are ranked 555th).

Tyson Sullivan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brazosport Christian, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sullivan a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was James Moore, who posted eight points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Allen Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-9. As for Brazosport Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Allen Academy will head out to square off against Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. As for Brazosport Christian, they and Founders Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Founders Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Brazosport Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
