Softball Recap: Foothill Makes It Four in a Row at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Foothill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Valley Christian Lions 13-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

The team relied heavily on Mercede Averett, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Oralis Vasquez Mendoza, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Foothill's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7 runs. As for Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Foothill will square off against Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Valley Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Encina at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st.
