Softball Recap: Maranatha Comes Up Short

Maranatha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 19-2 to the Rio Hondo Prep Kares. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minutemen of the 11-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Sadie Sullens was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Ashley Massino was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Maranatha's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their record is now 7-3.

Looking ahead, Maranatha will take on Village Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Hondo Prep, they will be playing at home against Chadwick at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
