Volleyball Recap: Central Heights Takes a Loss

Central Heights lost against Yates Center back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Central Heights ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Joiey Ferguson and Lyla Hamblin, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Kenna Kimball and her 14 assists. Ferguson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Central Heights' loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Yates Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

Central Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Oswego on the 14th. As for Yates Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Jayhawk Linn on the 14th.
