Basketball Game Preview: Sparta Trojans vs. Fair Grove Eagles

Sparta hasn't had much luck against Fair Grove recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Sparta Trojans will square off against the Fair Grove Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

Last Thursday, Sparta ended up a good deal behind Monett and lost 60-46. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fair Grove). They breezed by Mt. Vernon to the tune of 79-43 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won three matches in a row.

Sparta's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Fair Grove, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Sparta came up short against Fair Grove when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 43-39. Can Sparta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
