Banner County suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Banner County Wildcats vs. Hay Springs Hawks

The Banner County Wildcats struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Hay Springs Hawks had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Banner County was outmatched by Hay Springs on the road and fell 61-29. Banner County has struggled against Hay Springs recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Banner County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Olsen, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for him.

Dylan Young was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Hay Springs. That makes it three consecutive games in which Young has scored at least 25% of Hay Springs' points. Gage Mintken was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Banner County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Hay Springs, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Banner County will head out on the road to face off against Sioux County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sioux County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Hay Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Oelrichs at 4:30 p.m. Oelrichs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
