Soccer Game Preview: Lake Worth vs. Boynton Beach

The Lake Worth Trojans will head out to square off against the Boynton Beach Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Worth's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lake Worth's offense. They fell just short of Park Vista by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Trojans came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Cobras are ranked 305th).

Meanwhile, Boynton Beach unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 5-0 to Seminole Ridge on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now lost four in a row.

Lake Worth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Boynton Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Lake Worth beat Boynton Beach 3-1 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Lake Worth repeat their success, or does Boynton Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
