Baseball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. Pikeville Panthers

The Madison Southern Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Pikeville Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Madison Southern turned things around against Western Hills on Wednesday. They never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Pikeville entered their tilt with Magoffin County on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 8-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bradyn Hall was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Isaiah Stanley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Pikeville pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Madison Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 13-15.
