Basketball Game Preview: Immaculate Mustangs vs. Northwest Catholic Lions

The Immaculate Mustangs will take on the Northwest Catholic Lions in a holiday battle at at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Immaculate has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Northwest Catholic will come in with 11 straight wins.

Last Saturday, Immaculate might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Ludlowe an easy 63-37 victory.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gianna Alfano, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ciara Whitmore, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic beat East Catholic 53-46 on Saturday.

Immaculate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Northwest Catholic, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Immaculate skirted past Northwest Catholic 42-40 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Immaculate since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
