Preview: Johnsburg Central Jaguars vs. Boquet Valley Griffins
The Johnsburg Central Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Boquet Valley Griffins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnsburg Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Johnsburg Central was beaten by Bolton Central 72-17. While losing is never fun, Johnsburg Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Bolton Central is ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, Boquet Valley earned a 43-34 win over Schroon Lake on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Boquet Valley.
Ella Lobdell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Claire Reynolds, who scored 13 points.
Johnsburg Central's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Boquet Valley, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Johnsburg Central might still be hurting after the 45-23 loss they got from Boquet Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2019. Thankfully for Johnsburg Central, Abbey Schwoebel (who scored 19 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
