Waldron hadn't done well against North Decatur recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mohawks came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 13-9. With that victory, the Mohawks brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Troy Atwood, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlie Fischer, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Waldron and bumps their season record up to 5-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for North Decatur, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Waldron will be playing in front of their home fans against South Decatur at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Decatur will be paying especially close attention to the Mohawks' contest: after the Mohawks face off against the Cougars, they'll take on North Decatur again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
