Basketball Recap: Olympian Comes Up Short

If Olympian was feeling good fresh off their 66-38 takedown of Eastlake last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Olympian Eagles fell 65-58 to the Carlsbad Lancers on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Despite the loss, Olympian still got an impressive performance from Jordan Walker, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Xaiver King, who posted ten points.

Olympian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 20-5 record this season. As for Carlsbad, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Olympian has already played their next game, an 83-49 victory against St. Joseph Academy on the 10th. As for Carlsbad, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 83-68 win against University City on the 11th.
