Basketball Recap: Patrick County Comes Up Short

Patrick County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 62-38 to the Alleghany Cougars. The game marked Patrick County's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Patrick County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Alleghany, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick County will square off against Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Patrick County likes a good challenge. As for Alleghany, they will challenge Glenvar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
