Vinton County is 9-1 against Wellston since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Vinton County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 36 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Nelsonville-York on Friday. They had to suffer through a 54-12 loss at the hands of the Buckeyes. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Meanwhile, Wellston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Meigs, falling 33-8. Golden Rockets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Marauders since Friday.

Wellston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Vinton County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Vinton County strolled past Wellston in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 26-12. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Golden Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
