Volleyball Recap: Fernley's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home + How To Watch

Fernley dropped to 20-6 on Friday, ending the team's seven-match streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Churchill County Greenwave by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

Trista Menesini paced Fernley's offense, picking up 17 kills. Menesini got some help from Alauna Escartin and her 30 assists. Grace Chapin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

As for Churchill County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 30, 2024.

Leading Churchill County to victory were Kalaya Downs and Audrey Fruzza. Downs had ten digs, while Fruzza had 14 digs and six kills. Those six kills gave Fruzza a new career-high.

Fernley has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Lowry on the 11th. As for Churchill County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Elko on the 11th.
