Softball Recap: Newcomb Takes a Loss

Newcomb fell victim to Kirtland Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 20-0 to the Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Skyhawks of the 28-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Newcomb's record now sits at 0-2. As for Kirtland Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newcomb is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Laguna Acoma at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Newcomb's pitchers better be ready for this one: Laguna Acoma has averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season. As for Kirtland Central, they will take on Sandia in a tournament on Thursday.
