Softball Recap: Fairmont Comes Up Short

Fairmont came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights, falling 9-1. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Fairmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Belle Plaine on the 23rd. As for Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against St. James on the 23rd.
