Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. O'Connor

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will challenge the O'Connor Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Connor took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shadow Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Shadow Ridge turned things around against Basha on Wednesday. They never let the Bears onto the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Bears are ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nathan Johansen and Jacob Engwall scored both of Shadow Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, O'Connor was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They fell just short of Irving by a score of 2-1.

O'Connor's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Shadow Ridge, they now have a winning record of 6-5-2.

Shadow Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against O'Connor in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Shadow Ridge repeat their success, or does O'Connor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
