Football Recap: Saugus Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Saugus extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost 33-8 to the Gloucester Fishermen. While losing is never fun, the Sachems can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Fishermen are ranked 78th).

As for Gloucester, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Considering they have won three contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Joseph Allen was his usual excellent self, rushing for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Looking ahead, Saugus will face off against Swampscott at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gloucester, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winthrop at 6:30 p.m. on the 31st.
