Dylan Garland leads a balanced attack to beat Skyline

Recap: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Skyline Falcons

The Mountain View Mountain Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Skyline by a score of 67-58. The victory was just what Mountain View needed coming off of a 87-52 defeat in their prior matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Garland, who scored 19 points. Garland hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Carsen Kissinger, who scored 14 points.

Skyline's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talan Starcevich, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Starcevich has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Diego Kheng was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Skyline, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Thompson Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Thompson Valley and Mountain View are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Skyline, they will head out on the road to square off against Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Morgan is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
