Volleyball Game Preview: Animo Pat Brown Gryphons vs. Burton Scorpions

The Animo Pat Brown Gryphons will head out to take on the Burton Scorpions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Animo Pat Brown earned a 3-1 win over Animo Venice. The Gryphons haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Animo Pat Brown walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 21-25, 25-12, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Burton posted their closest victory since September 30, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Animo Venice 3-2.

Burton was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (115-114), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 17-15.

Animo Pat Brown's record is now 8-5. As for Burton, their record now sits at 3-1.

Animo Pat Brown came out on top in a nail-biter against Burton when the teams last played back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gryphons since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
