After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Kerman, Taft was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They skirted past the Garces Memorial Rams  9-7. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.
 William Espinoza made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Espinoza was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Espinoza wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Brock Heber, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. Heber also put up a  double, which was his first of the season. Another  was  Dylan Clark, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
Taft has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Garces Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
 Taft wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  an  11-8  defeat against Chavez on the 1st. As for Garces Memorial, they have also already played their next contest,  a  7-3  loss against Centennial on the 31st.
