Basketball Recap: Batesville Comes Up Short

Batesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Nettleton Raiders, falling 71-49. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Raiders are ranked 11th).

Batesville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Nettleton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Looking ahead, Batesville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marion at 7:00 p.m. Marion will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Batesville surely won't give up without a fight. Nettleton has already played their next contest (against Paragould), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
