Softball Game Preview: West Potomac Wolverines vs. Robinson Rams

The West Potomac Wolverines will head out to take on the Robinson Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Potomac's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matches, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lake Braddock hit West Potomac with a six-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-2 to the Bruins, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

West Potomac saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stella Weeks, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Robinson's offense. They came up short against West Springfield on Wednesday, falling 13-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Rams haven't been shut out since back in March.

West Potomac's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Robinson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

West Potomac might still be hurting after the 20-2 defeat they got from Robinson when the teams last played back in April. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
