Volleyball Recap: Huntley Gets the Win

Huntley posted their closest win since October 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Barrington Fillies/Broncos 2-1. This was payback for the Red Raiders, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Huntley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 25-16.

Among those leading the charge was Sophia Tocmo, who had 14 digs and three assists. Those 14 digs gave her a new career-high.

Huntley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Barrington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Huntley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Crystal Lake Central on the 25th. As for Barrington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Hoffman Estates on the 25th.
