Volleyball Recap: Lowry Takes a Loss

Lowry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spring Creek Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss on October 3rd.

Lowry started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-5.

Natalya Guizar paced Lowry's offense, picking up 13 kills. Guizar got some help from Lexi Hernandez and her 21 assists. Finally, Guizar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Lowry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Spring Creek, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-17.

As of now, neither Lowry nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
