It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hernando had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Crystal River Pirates 5-3. The win continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.

Michael Saltsman looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cadyn Williams relieved him and did a solid job, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Austin Knierim was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hernando's record now sits at 20-4. As for Crystal River, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Hernando has already played their next game, a 5-3 loss against Nature Coast Tech on the 15th. Crystal River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
