Basketball Recap: Humphreys County Takes a Loss

Humphreys County lost against Edwards back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Humphreys County Cowboys took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edwards Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Tigers are ranked 49th).

Humphreys County's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Edwards, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Humphreys County will take on Yazoo County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Yazoo County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Edwards, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-42 defeat against Jim Hill on the 20th.
