Baseball Game Preview: Grundy County Yellowjackets vs. Cascade Champions

For the second straight game, Grundy County will face off against Cascade. The Yellowjackets will welcome the Champions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grundy County has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Grundy County fell victim to Cascade and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Champions. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Champions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Cascade's part, the team relied heavily on Wickey Parker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Parker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Milliken, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The victory (which was Cascade's ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Grundy County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
