Recap: Marshall County Tigers vs. Central Magnet
Even though Central Magnet scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Marshall County Tigers still came out on top. Marshall County managed a 64-60 win over Central Magnet. For Marshall County, this counts as revenge for the 54-37 loss Central Magnet walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2021.
Leading Marshall County to victory were Jamahl Gentry and Jabrae Howard. Gentry scored 21 points along with two steals, while Howard scored 24 points. Gentry hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Xavier Mosley, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Marshall County's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Central Magnet, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marshall County and Giles County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Giles County is ranked 152nd, while Marshall County is ranked 132nd). As for Central Magnet, they will head out on the road to challenge Tullahoma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
