Softball Recap: Frankenmuth Triumphs

Frankenmuth took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Millington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Chloe Compau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aliyah Sprowl was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven matchups. Bri Barker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Frankenmuth's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Millington, they dropped their record down to 19-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Frankenmuth will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
