Volleyball Recap: Bennett Tigers vs. Middle Park Panthers

It was a proper cat-fight when Bennett faced off against Middle Park on Friday. The Tigers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Bennett wouldn't go down easily and took Middle Park into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-22, 27-29, 25-27, 15-7.

Kaurlie Voorhies paced Bennett's offense, picking up 16 kills. Voorhies got some help from Emilee Venneberg and her 26 assists. Mady Bavouset controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Bennett has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Middle Park, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Bennett will square off against Lake County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Middle Park, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against West Grand on the 6th.
