Softball Recap: Madison-Grant's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Madison-Grant dropped their record down to 18-9 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the South Adams Starfires by a score of 2-1. The Argylls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Starfires apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Madison-Grant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Dunham, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for South Adams, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On South Adams' side, Addie Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. Baker has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Madison-Grant has already played their next game, a 15-5 loss against Eastbrook on the 27th. As for South Adams, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 victory against Adams Central on the 26th.
